Colorfully dyed artificial silk, hand-twisted onto wire: fluffy, flexible, shapeable into any form. From it we make animals, figures, and jewelry — the material with which everything started here in 1928.

Three materials, one craft
What is handmade in our workshop
For almost a hundred years, much is created in Putzkau by hand that elsewhere has long since come from a machine. For us, it's still wire, fiber, paper wool, and a pair of practiced hands.
Easter Grass
Paper wool, plucked and dyed, perfect for any Easter basket. In 1966, Christian Paul built the Easter grass machine for his master's thesis and began production — as the only manufacturer in what would later become East Germany. Today, roughly one-third of our production.

One family, one wire, almost a hundred years
In 1928, merchant Richard Willy Paul began working with chenille and grasses in Putzkau, from home. His son Christian brought Easter grass to the mix in 1966. In 1972, the business was seized — and after reunification, on December 20, 1990, Dorette Paul founded it anew. Today, Ina Paul leads the company. Four names, almost a hundred years, and still the same handwork.

Home industry Putzkau
30-year-old merchant Richard Willy Paul founds the business. First products from chenille and grasses — he draws the patterns and designs himself.
1966
Easter grass arrives
Christian Paul builds the Easter grass machine for his master's thesis — as the only manufacturer in what would later become East Germany.
1972
Seizure
The business is seized. But the knowledge stays in the family.
1990
A new beginning
On December 20, 1990, Dorette Paul, the family's daughter-in-law, founds the company anew after reunification.
